It’s the dog days of summer! ☀️ Who else is ready for a break from this heat? 🔥Having a new pup to love in your life won’t make you any cooler but it will definitely make you happier this summer! 🩵 We have pups ready to go now. 

Took a little road trip with some of the remaining puppers today….106° out & ended up stranded at a Maverick due to some car problems. Our amazing friend came to our rescue but in the meantime the management was sweet enough to let us hang out inside the cool store, puppies included. *swipe* A group of ladies came walking in, one “Ooooh’ed” & the other squealed “This is the BEST Maverick ever!!” 😆 We are grateful for the kindness of friends & strangers today who helped us stay cool in our moment of crisis during this heatwave. 🔥😎🐶🚙

🤎 boy: this little lover is fluff personified. He loves to cuddle & is pretty mellow, as far as Golden pups go. He has the sweetest face & is ready for a bestie. 
🩷 girl: sugar & honey is how I would describe this little girl! Somehow Pink always ends up being our tiniest girl pup & this time was no different. She’s a little more petite & sweet as can be.
🖤 girl: Miss Black is chubby & so playful. She likes to have fun & has a great personality to go with it. If you’re looking for a rolly poly puppy she’s your girl.
💜 girl: she is a lover! My kids all love to cuddle her the most & she is more than happy to return the favor. She also has the lightest coloring of the litter.
❤️ girl: on the calmer end but always ready for fun, Red will be your buddy through thick & thin. She is playful but not the evil mastermind of the bunch.
🧡 boy: this little guy was one of the first in everything; he learned to walk & bark days before the rest of the litter. He loves to play & is a smartie who is going to be active & ready for the next adventure.

☀️ With a heatwave hitting most of the PNW this week & next here are some great tips to help keep your furry family members cool & safe! Just like us they’re susceptible to dehydration & heatstroke so we need to help them stay safe and cool when the temperature is rising. 🔥😎🐾
Protect your pet from dehydration and heatstroke by ensuring they have constant access to fresh clean water 💦 and ample shade, never leaving them in parked vehicles 🚗 or any enclosed space without proper ventilation 💨, protecting their paws from hot pavement 🐾, and limiting exercise when the temps or humidity are high. ☀️ 
Heatstroke is an emergency 🚨 that requires medical intervention as soon as possible! 🚑
 Signs of heatstroke in pets can include:
•Dehydration: Vomiting and/or diarrhea; dry, sticky gums; excessive panting; loss of skin elasticity 🌵
•High heart rate 💓
•Body temperature over 104 degrees 🌡
•Collapses or seizures ❤️‍🩹
If you suspect your pet is suffering from heatstroke, follow these steps and call us (or an emergency vet) IMMEDIATELY. 🆘 
•Move them to a cool, shaded area 🌳
•Pour cool (NOT cold) water over their body or use a wet towel to cool them down 🧽💦
•Provide fresh, cold water 💧

We’ve grown so big over this past week while our teen kids were away at camp! 🏕️ 🐾 We are definitely walking & can even hold our bums up most of the time now. We’ve found our voices & like to identify intruders into our domain. We are going to start on mush this upcoming week & get our first venture into the backyard! Fierce & rowdy pups take a lot of intensive training. As you can see here the guard dog instinct comes naturally for Goldens, but we work hard to refine it. 😆🙈

We are welcoming another litter of beautiful red pups in July! This will be the first litter from our pretty Sammi, the daughter of Luna + Asher. She has her mama's gorgeous red coat & her daddy's sweet eyes. For all you Luna lovers out there this is the litter you've been waiting for! We just love our field goldens & know you will too. Puppies are here! Artemis worked hard all night & gave us 8 healthy babies: 5 gals & 3 boys. 🙂 She ended up having 2 more (bringing the total to 9) after we went to bed around 3am when we thought she was done. This morning we found one that sadly didn’t make it. Our hearts are a bit sad because this is always the hardest part but we are thrilled at all the beautiful healthy babies. 🐶🌲 Our “Snowy Forest” morning: Forest Green left this morning! This sweet family told us they had heard of us through their long time friend & dog trainer last week after a long search to find just the right place to “get a dog for their dog”. Sadly their plans changed & they lost their beautiful dog Snowy suddenly last week. It was a beautiful thing seeing them meet & play with the pups as they made their choice. They got right down on the ground the cuddle & play with them, seeing the start of a bond is always such a gift. These moments are a huge part of why we do what we do & why we put so much effort into finding the perfect match for all our pups. I’m so glad we all found each other! Last night we bid farewell to our sweetest boy, Teal 🩵! We kept saying how amazed we were he hadn’t been snatched up yet & how he must be waiting for just the perfect family. Our final little girly flew the coop this afternoon! 🩰🐶 Penelope caught a ride to Rexburg with our favorite pup-sitter @kristina_jensen5054 . There she met up with her new family from Montana! From all reports she’s been handling the road trip like the champ she is. 🫶🏻🐾🦌🏔️ 

Our sweet lil French Fry! 💛🍟 She had a great pre-homecoming slumber party last week before Thanksgiving before her family had to leave town for the holiday. They got back last night & were able to pick her up for good! She seemed almost as excited as they were & she snuggled on in. We are going to miss you little girl!

There was more than the Thanksgiving Day Parade going on at our house Thursday morning! Piper 🩷 got picked up & flew to Arizona 🌵 to join her family & big brother Ollivander. Ollie came from Luna’s second litter & their family decided he needed a little sister! I grew up with the mama of this family & just love her to bits. We wound up in the same college town in Idaho when our oldests were born, & here we are 20 years later. Their family’s very golden came from back home as well from my sister Kristy back in the day! We love getting all of their videos & pupdates over the years. The last 4 pics are Ollie (now), Ollie as a pup, & Ollie with Colby their old man Golden before he passed. 💛🧡🤍

Look at this handsome little fella! After breeding reds for so long it has been a bit of a fun change to see these super light little fluffers. For years we say that Artemis has a toasted marshmallow tummy because her underside, toe floof, & tail wispies are all so much lighter than the rest of her coat, thanks to her half English Cream daddy. These little guys are even lighter, and have had such a color variation as their coats and coloring is coming in. Some are quite light like their daddy Odin, while others show the honey ears and facial markings that they will grow to be more toasty mallow than polar bear as they get older. We can't wait to watch this litter grow!

Let’s find these 3 boys some wonderful families! To our utter amazement our sweet little nugget Teal 🩵 is *still* unclaimed. He is the cutest thing and mellow as can be without being a shy pushover. Mr. 🧡 is happy and always wants to play and be your new bestest friend. Lastly but not least is Forest 🌲, he is light cream just like his daddy with just a hint of his mama’s honey & has dark eyes that stare into your soul. 😍 We are happy to help make travel arrangements, if needed.

As promised: Royal 💙 was adopted via the Bishop Kelly HS fundraising auction. A sweet local family adopted him & he’s been doing so great! Their college kiddos came home for the holiday break & smothered him with love & now are even more excited to come back home for Christmas. We love helping make all these sweet family moments happen! 😍🥹🐾🦃🎄

🖤 Maverick! This brave little polar bear 🐻‍❄️ made his flight to Seattle look like a cakewalk. He slept the whole way & was an absolute gem. When he got to his new home he got to surprise his new kids & they were thrilled to say the least! This guy is getting so much love. 🐾 

Our fatty McFatty boy Pretzel 🥨 left on Tuesday! His arrival has been looooong awaited by his mama who held out on Luna’s final litter of red pups because she was so excited for this upcoming light litter. And now the waiting is over! This poor little nugget got locked in prison with Grandma earlier tonight & his face just killed me. We’ll ignore the fact he was begging to get IN with her mere moments beforehand.

Loading up after a vet appointment always ends up feeling a little bit like a celebrity red carpet walk. We have an amazing vet & staff. They always take such good care of us & of course everyone has to come visit & snuggle the puppers while we are there. 

Vet check! Clean bill of health for everyone! First shots & wormer done.

We take our crate training really seriously around here. In truth, this giant puppy pile in the open crate helps them get used to the space in a comfortable & safe environment. They learn that it is a calm place to rest & it doesn’t stress them out. Over time we close the door for short, and then longer periods of time, gradually increasing their tolerance & acceptance of being in a crate without the emotional transition phase which can often be filled with hours of howling & other behaviors.

These little polar bears are growing like weeds! They’ve been super busy this past week, their eyes are open, they’re testing out their wobbly little legs, & even starting to play some as they find their voices. Our oldest daughter says they’re looking so much cuter & more like puppies now instead of rats.

We were all interested to see how Artemis would react to Luna now that she was *finally* the mama this time around. She’s always been such a good nanny to all her sibling litters! Yesterday was a momentous day when she let Luna into the whelping box, Artemis has been highly territorial of them since birth but has gradually been loosening up around Luna. Grandma Luna was SO excited & can’t stop cuddling and loving on them now.

These pups are growing like weeds! Their sleeping potions never cease to crack me up. “Hey, imma just lay right across your neck there…” or there's the synchronized swimming puppies of the nursing world.

Evening time for puppy weights & their ENS is kind of like our therapy time. I mean, who doesn’t love to just sit and cuddle tiny puppies?? Sorry kids- I gotta go “do my job”!

Lots of eating & sleeping going on around here this past day. Aaaaand maybe not just the puppies & their mama. We've been working on catching up on our sleep too after the long delivery. 

When you really just need to be extra close to mama. I walked into the pantry to check on the pups & found this sweet little sight. 

 We were weighing the pups this morning & as I was turning around looking for my bin of supplies I asked my husband if he had seen it….and then I realized it had been in my hand the whole time. You could say it was a long night.

8:31am Artemis had a long night in the early stages of labor, but the first pup is out and it’s a girl! Here we go!

4:54pm We’ve hit an even dozen! Mama Artemis is getting pretty tired so we are hoping she’s done but we aren’t quite sure just yet so we are keeping a close eye on her. We have been blessed so far that ALL pups & mama are healthy! 

10:49am & Artemis is still going strong!

After growing up with & years of breeding red field Goldens these bright platinum coats are tickling me pink. What a fun contrast. 

I just got home from my shift at the hospital & checked on Artemis. I think we may finally be getting this whole thing started! Wish her luck!

You could say she’s a little clingy. We often hear people requesting male pups because they say they are more loving & cuddly. I don't think our girls got that memo. If our hands are empty & we aren't petting them they are more than happy to remind us of our duty to give them loves.

Like mama, like daughter. Pregnant Artemis is wondering what on earth is going on with her body these days. Her delivery date is this week & we are so excited! Stay tuned!!

We believe in exposing our pups to people of all ages early on, as well as other animals, so they have a better chance at adjusting & fitting in with their new families when they go home with them.

We just love our Lily girl! She gets to go to work with her human mama every day & has office buddies. She’s quite the talker, has the best toe floof, & I’m pretty sure she thinks she’s human too. Lily is from our Luna mama’s very first litter & belongs to my baby sister in CA. She loves lots of long walks all over the amazing trail system there. She was the darkest pup in our first litter & her sister Artemis was the lightest, they’re the two puppers you see in our profile pic! Artemis is our newest mama who is expecting her first litter next month. We can’t wait to meet them!

🤍🐶 White pup aka Rocky went to this wonderful couple who is now our chicken dealers. 😁 They have a large property outside of town & two big lab brothers for him to play with, along with hundreds of 🐓🦆🦚🐇. We went out to visit 3-4 days later to get some eggs & Rocky came running up excited to see us. But then he was happy as a clam to go play with his new buds & then tromp off with his new owner when it was time to go. We love seeing these moments & connections!
